, an ISO 9001 certified company, is a leading manufacturer in the commercial hardware industry located in Waukegan is currently seeking a full time Quality Assurance Specialist.
Work with internal departments, performing a variety of activities that support the quality management system ensuring customer, supplier and company quality requirements are met.
Maintain, monitor and report on quality KPIs across the company.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best quality practice, strategy, policies, processes and procedures.
Maintain the quality systems databases, to include data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Support the quality management system ensuring customer, supplier and company quality requirements are met.
Assist in maintaining certifications and accreditations Review, track, analyze and report all non-conformances.
Maintain internal/external corrective action database.
Track, monitor and report quality trends.
Assist in maintaining and organizing the QC hold area.
Assist department supervisors/manager to resolve any quality issues and assist in root cause analysis.
Work with department supervisors/manager to generate rework orders/instructions.
Work with engineering to create & maintain inspection plans/database.
Create rework orders as needed from RGA and MRB Maintain and facilitate controlled document changes as it relates to the ISO intranet Assist maintaining ISO 9001 certification Perform facility audits Effectively communicate with supervisor.
(daily progress / any issues) Other duties as assigned Required skills, licenses, knowledge, experience or abilities:
Must have knowledge and skilled use of optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, height gauge, thread gauge, radius gauge, and pin gauge.
Must have 2 years college/technical school with emphasis in Quality, Engineering or Industrial Technology.
May substitute a combination of education and experience equivalent to ten years of industrial experience.
Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in quality within a metal or plastic manufacturing environment.
Experience and ability to read and interpret Engineering blueprints and documentation.
Experience with and knowledge of computers including Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams software.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
